Two weeks ago, I was presented with an incredible opportunity RUN THE BOSTON MARATHON to support the The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. Yes you read that right – run 26.2 miles and while raising money for the Brookline Mental Health Center. A year ago, this would have been out of the question, but running has helped keep me grounded AND I am privileged to have access to mental health care when I need it – but not everyone does.
Between the stigma around mental health or lack of funds, accessibility to mental health services is on the decline. The Brookline Mental Health Center provided 42,000 hours of healthcare in 2017 and I can’t wait to help them increase that in 2018. Please help me get there by donating to my Crowdrise campaign for Team Brookline Mental Health Center. I’m trying to raise $7000 by the end of February!
For the record, there are plenty of marathons I could have entered without a fundraising component, but this cause means so much to me that I couldn’t pass up this chance to do so much good.
